Key Moments from Harris and Trump’s Rallies
- Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are on the campaign trail, delivering their final messages in the hours leading up to Election Day.
- Harris has multiple events planned in Pennsylvania, including a star-studded evening rally in Philadelphia. Trump is hosting rallies in North Carolina and Pennsylvania before concluding his day in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
- The running mates are busy as well: Democratic vice presidential nominee, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, and Republican vice presidential nominee, Sen. JD Vance of Ohio, are each holding events in the crucial battleground states of Michigan and Wisconsin.
Election officials here are confident in their preparations to ensure a smooth process on Election Day and throughout the night, including readiness for any legal challenges.
“We’re running an extremely tight process to prepare for any legal challenges,” said Allegheny County spokesperson Abigail Gardner in an interview with NBC News today. “It’s very expensive and time-consuming, as you can imagine.”
The county has invested six figures in cameras, installing them at every polling location, all 10 ballot drop-boxes, and throughout the Pittsburgh warehouse where ballots will be counted. According to Gardner, there are more cameras per square inch in the tabulation center than in the local casino.
The objective is to maintain “eyes on everything” during the election process. Each precinct will have four to five staff members, supported by a total of 7,000 poll workers countywide.
Additionally, 100 election workers will be “roaming” and available to assist as needed.
The county anticipates 225,000 to 230,000 registered voters will vote by mail, with another 500,000 casting their ballots in person on Election Day.
