Cardi B and Tasha K Reach Bankruptcy Settlement Payment Plan After $4 Million Defamation Ruling

Cardi B and Tasha K Settle Bankruptcy Payment Plan After Defamation Case

Cardi B and blogger Tasha K have come to terms on a bankruptcy settlement following a defamation case that resulted in a $4 million judgment. As part of a Chapter 11 plan, Latasha Kebe (Tasha K) has agreed to pay Cardi B approximately $1.2 million over the course of the next five years in monthly installments. The payment plan, which was approved by a judge, begins with $176,532 in the first year and will increase to $318,653 by the fifth year.

Though the repayment plan covers only part of the judgment, Cardi B has the right to pursue the remaining balance after the five-year period, which could include wage garnishment if necessary.

As part of the settlement, Kebe has agreed not to make any defamatory or harmful statements about Cardi or her family on any platform, including social media and podcasts. However, Cardi B is not prohibited from making statements about Kebe.

Cardi’s attorney, Lisa Moore, expressed her satisfaction with the settlement, saying in a statement, “This marks the end of years of deceit and fraudulent actions from Tasha K and her associates. We’re pleased to have secured such a robust and protective plan for Cardi moving forward.”

In 2019, Cardi B filed a lawsuit against Kebe after the blogger spread false claims about the rapper, including allegations of herpes, drug use, and prostitution. In 2022, Cardi took the stand, revealing the immense emotional strain caused by the defamatory claims.

During the bankruptcy proceedings in 2023, Cardi’s legal team accused Kebe of trying to hide valuable assets, including initially listing a 2021 Chevy Silverado as her primary asset.

The payment plan’s success will depend on Kebe’s future income, which includes earnings from her husband’s company, Yelen Entertainment.
